| | Born on 25 September 1949 in Peshawar, Pakistan. Inducted into the Provincial Judiciary of the North West Frontier Province in 1974 as the first lady Civil Judge, she stepped up the ladder very fast by becoming a Senior Civil Judge, District & Sessions Judge and was elevated as a judge of the High Court of Peshawar (Pakistan) in June 1994. She had the privilege to be the first lady judge of Pakistan in the higher Judiciary. She had also held many administrative positions, such as Registrar of the Peshawar High Court and secretarial positions in the Justice and Law Department, NWFP. She is a member of the International Association of Women Judges, USA, and has attended many international conferences. She has worked extensively to eradicate child labour in Pakistan and South Asia. |
